A big “Thank You”!
Before Christmas, our Chaplaincy Team decided they would like to do a reverse Advent Calendar. We were so overwhelmed by your generosity! It took a class of 30 Year 6s to bring all the items to our volunteer, Martin (he had to make several trips back and forth!)
Our local food bank in Bishops Stortford were so grateful that they invited our Chaplaincy Team down to see where your generous donations go. The children had the opportunity to listen to the work they do, from Jane, one of the trustees, and help pack boxes. It was a really fulfilling afternoon. The children came back to school with so many new ideas!
Big School Bird Watch
On January 14th, the Eco Council took part in the Big School's Bird Watch run by the RSPB. We put down some seeds and fruit for the birds to enjoy, then the children counted birds which visited our playground and field during a one hour period and recorded them using a tally sheet. The highest number of each bird at any one time was then sent off to the RSPB as part of their national survey. 
We recorded a number of: black-headed gulls, crows, magpies, a pair of pied wagtails (unusual) and wood pigeons.
The weekend of 25th January is the Big Garden Bird watch if you wish to participate at home. Information is easy to find on the RSPB website.
