Parking
In July 2024, St Joseph's was awarded an Excellent School Travel Plan accreditation for our outstanding efforts in promoting walking, cycling and other forms of sustainable travel on the journey to school.
Parking
As with many schools, we have limited parking available for our parents. For those that can, please walk to and from school as much as possible. For those that live too far to walk, please consider driving part of the way and walking the rest. This will help to ease the congestion around the school.
College Gravel Car Park
This car park is the property of Bishop’s Stortford College, and they kindly allow us to use the car park at the beginning and end of school. It should not be used during the school day. The car park provides approximately 30 spaces. Cars should not be parked on the road that leads to the car park.
Great Hadham Road
This road becomes very congested at school drop off and pick up. Please be considerate when parking on the road and, in particular, do not park too close to the roundabout, at the bus stop, or on the zig zags by the crossing.
Windhill School
This car park should not be used by St Joseph’s parents.
School Staff Car Park
This is a very busy car park for staff only, deliveries and blue badge holders where this has been notified and agreed in advance with the school. Please do not pull up at the entrance or exit to the car park, drive through the car park or park there whilst dropping off or collecting from school, pre-school or early birds/night owls.
Also, could we please remind people not to walk through the car park. Entrance to and from the school office, nursery and reception classes is via the gate by the nursery building, which should be closed after use.
Our car park gate is closed during the following times:
8:40am-9:10am
3:10pm-3:40pm
Access will be denied during these times.
Surrounding roads
Please park safely and with courtesy and consideration when parking on surrounding roads. Restrictions may apply on some roads.
